Chemicals for better circuitry
Arkema products are found in many electrical and electronic products.
Rilsan® Clear polyamide, functionalized polyolefins, Kynar® polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), Kynar Flex®, Rilsan®, and Pebax® are used in a broad range of electrical and electronic applications.
Luperox® products are employed in a variety of ways in most electrical box components, from circuit assembly materials to crosslinked wires and cable.
Some Pebax® resin grades can be used for cable jackets. They combine ease of processing, low density, and springback properties that make Pebax® resins ideal for coil cables.
Anti-termite cables
Lacovyl® PVC cables
Fiber-optic cable jackets and raceways
Conduits
Automotive wiring and connectors
Battery casings
Fuel cell separator plates
Lithium ion battery binders
Halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) agents
Increasingly, cables used in buildings, automotive applications, and power grids have to be low-smoke, halogen-free and flame retardant. Polyolefin-based compounds with a high loading of specific flame retardant additives are often the solution. Thanks to their high filler acceptance, Evatane® and Lotryl® resins are the right choice for developing these HFFR compounds. Combined with Lotader® and Orevac® coupling agents that firmly bond the fillers with the matrix these compounds can meet the most demanding standards of the industry.
Forane® solvents are also used in a broad range of applications in printed circuit manufacture.
Arkema products are also present in every part of medium and high voltage cables: the insulation is crosslinked with Luperox®, and, where applicable water-tree retarded with Lotryl®, whereas inner and outer semiconductive layers are blends of carbon black and Lotryl® or Evatane® crosslinked with Luperox®.
