Cables used in buildings, automotive and power networks are increasingly required to be Halogen Free Flame Retardant (HFFR)

The selection of the appropriate coupling agent is an important issue for HFFR compounds:

High levels of flame retardant additives affect the polymer matrix, which leads to low mechanical performance. This can be overcome by introducing Lotader® as a coupling agent between the polyolefin and filler.
The use of reactive polymers such as Lotader® resins improve filler dispersion and adhesion with base polymer.

Using a coupling agent allows increases the tensile strength at break while keeping a good elongation.

Mechanical performances can be improved by introducing Orevac® / Lotader® as a coupling agent between the polyolefins and the fillers.
