A well-timed portfolio management

In the first five years of its existence, Arkema has worked towards building a strong and competitive group.

As a financially strong company, the Group has succeeded in developing and refocusing its activities portfolio on buoyant sectors through targeted acquisitions offering synergies with its growth activities.

The acquisition of Total’s photocure and coating resins, finalized on July 1st 2011, is very much in line with Arkema’s growth strategy for the coming years.

Now one of the leading world players in the coatings market, Arkema is in a position to serve its customers anywhere in the world with an even wider product range (emulsions, photocure, rheology additives, alkyd resins, powder resins, fluorinated polymers and copolymers, etc.).

Arkema Coating Resins

The specialty resins acquired from Total together with the emulsions previously purchased from Dow have merged into the Arkema Coating Resins Business Unit.

The Arkema Coating Resins emulsions, resins and additives target a large number of markets: architectural coatings, industrial lacquers, building products, traffic paints, caulks and sealants, adhesives, inks, floor care products, and graphic art products.

Photocure Resins

The Sartomer photocure resins activities make up a new Business Unit.

Following this acquisition, Arkema has become joint world leader in the photocure resins market, covering a range of high added value technical products downstream from the acrylics sector, and with strong growth potential in wide-ranging markets (graphic arts, optics, electronics, etc.).
